Hi All,
Since e-marketing covers a lot more ground than just e-mail
marketing, and since our readers (you) seem to want to discuss
other facets of marketing online, I have decided to widen the
topic of this list from e-mail marketing to all electronic
marketing. Subjects might include any aspect of online,
electronic marketing. Here are just a few examples. I'm
sure you will all come up with hundreds more;
I) WWW
a) What constitutes good web design
b) Negotiating reciprocal links
c) Banner advertising
II) E-mail marketing
a) Direct mail composition
b) Building a targeted mailing list
c) Opt-in advertising
III) Making the sale online
a) Leading your prospect to the point of sale
b) Online ordering methods
c) Secure transactions
IV) Building your internet 'presence'
a) Signature design
b) The 'rules' of participation
c) Newsgroups & Mailinglists
OK, everyone. Let the floodgates open. The floor is now yours...

John - I stopped in at the page you pointed to, the membership
offer, and found a great deal of info about what you were
offering... everything but direct links to the pages themselves!
I thinnk you might get better response if people can go directly
from your member's first contact pages to the member pages
themselves. It also might help to point directly to some of the
pages whose owners have already signed up for your service.
Now, to guaranteeing results... results should never be guaranteed
when it comes to advertising. Offering to do so will cause many
a savvy media buyer running for cover. What you should focus on is
showing past results and/or current and past traffic figures - *not*
'hits', but html page visits. I know this might sound like a
Catch 22 (TM Philip Roth), but gaining traffic is mandatory before
you can realistically expect to find paying customers.
Of course, the above is only opinion...
"Make me an offer" might bring on a few risk-takers... you never
know. I have had fair luck designing and administering a client's
site in exchange for a percentage of sales that come directly from
the site. Maybe you could work out something like this?
